Abstract

This study aims to redesign the interface of the Catatmak application to make it more user-friendly using a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach. Developed by Bangkit Academy students in 2023, Catatmak is a personal finance application featuring income and expense tracking, WhatsApp connectivity, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and reporting capabilities ranging from daily to monthly summaries. Previously, the application scored 69.5 (Grade C) in System Usability Scale (SUS) testing. By applying the UCD method, the researchers identified user needs and designed effective solutions. The design process encompassed user identification, feedback collection, persona development, the creation of user flows and wireframes, and usability testing. Evaluation results demonstrated a significant improvement in usability scores, reaching 88.2 (categorized as "Excellent"). Assessments using the User Experience Questionnaire yielded the following average scores: Attractiveness (2.02), Clarity (1.90), Efficiency (1.92), Precision (1.80), Stimulation (1.76), and Novelty (1.64). In conclusion, the UI/UX redesign of the Catatmak application successfully enhanced its usability and user satisfaction.
