Abstract

Advancements in digital technology, such as Virtual Tour have opened new opportunities in visual promotion, particularly within the hospitality sector. This study focuses on Fairfield by Marriott Surabaya, a hotel that faces challenges related to limited public exposure of its brand identity and facilities. Traditional promotional approaches are deemed ineffective, necessitating a more immersive and interactive strategy supported by digital technology. This study aims to develop an virtual tour that is accessible and user-friendly for the general public while also evaluating user acceptance through their experiential feedback. The novelty of this research lies in the hotel virtual tour and the application of the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) as a comprehensive evaluation tool for assessing user experience. The development process follows the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) framework, which comprises the stages of conceptualization, design, material collection, development, testing, and distribution. User experience was evaluated using the UEQ to assess various dimensions of interaction. The UEQ testing results indicate positive scores across all dimensions: Attractiveness (2.33), Perspicuity (2.15), Efficiency (2.16), Dependability (2.14), Stimulation (2.32), and Novelty (1.50). Pragmatic quality dimensions—Perspicuity, Efficiency, and Dependability—achieved an average score of 2.15, while hedonic quality dimensions—Stimulation and Novelty—achieved an average score of 1.91. These findings demonstrate that the developed virtual tour system provides an efficient, enjoyable, and easily comprehensible user experience.
