Abstract

Perkerasan jalan merupakan elemen penting dalam infrastruktur transportasi yang harus dirancang sesuai dengan kondisi lalu lintas dan karakteristik tanah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan review design dari sistem perkerasan fleksibel (flexible pavement) menjadi perkerasan kaku (rigid pavement) pada proyek rekonstruksi Jalan Poros Labanan – Tepian Buah, Kabupaten Berau. Jalan ini merupakan jalur strategis yang dilalui kendaraan bermuatan berat dengan frekuensi tinggi, sehingga membutuhkan desain konstruksi yang mampu menahan beban besar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis teknis dan ekonomis. Evaluasi dilakukan terhadap kebutuhan struktural, karakteristik lalu lintas, kondisi tanah dasar, serta estimasi biaya dan waktu pelaksanaan dari masing-masing sistem perkerasan. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa rigid pavement lebih unggul dalam hal kekuatan, durabilitas, serta efisiensi pemeliharaan jangka panjang. Meskipun biaya awal konstruksi dengan rigid pavement mencapai Rp9.530.689.649, atau sekitar 10% lebih tinggi dibandingkan flexible pavement, namun dari sisi umur layanan dan penghematan biaya pemeliharaan, metode ini dinilai lebih ekonomis dalam jangka panjang. Selain itu, durasi pelaksanaan rigid pavement dapat dipersingkat hingga ±50 hari kerja dengan manajemen waktu yang efektif, lebih cepat ±21% dibandingkan durasi pelaksanaan flexible pavement. Dengan mempertimbangkan aspek teknis, biaya, dan efisiensi waktu, perubahan desain dari flexible pavement menjadi rigid pavement pada ruas jalan ini dinilai tepat dan layak diterapkan
