Abstract
Desain yang kurang optimal dapat menimbulkan berbagai masalah, seperti pembengkakan biaya, keterlambatan, penurunan kualitas, hingga risiko kecelakaan kerja akibat minimnya perhatian terhadap aspek keselamatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi dan menyempurnakan desain teknis proyek Peningkatan Jalan Depar–Jontai di Kecamatan Nyuatan, Kabupaten Kutai Barat melalui pendekatan Review Design. Desain memegang peran kunci dalam keberhasilan konstruksi dari sisi teknis, biaya, waktu, dan keselamatan, namun desain awal seringkali belum optimal sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan hambatan dalam pelaksanaan proyek. Dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan evaluasi terhadap desain eksisting, khususnya pada struktur lantai kendaraan yang menggunakan perkerasan beton mutu tinggi (Fc’ 30 MPa), serta penyusunan alternatif desain yang lebih efisien dengan menggunakan beton mutu menengah (Fc’ 25 MPa). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung (data primer) dan studi dokumen teknis seperti gambar kerja dan RAB (data sekunder). Teknik analisis yang digunakan meliputi evaluasi teknis, penyusunan alternatif desain, penyusunan ulang RAB, serta perbandingan efisiensi biaya dan waktu antara desain awal dan desain alternatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alternatif desain dapat menghasilkan penghematan biaya sebesar ±6,5% atau Rp 238.713.086 dan memberikan potensi efisiensi waktu pelaksanaan melalui metode kerja yang lebih sederhana. Dengan demikian, penerapan Review Design terbukti dapat meningkatkan efisiensi proyek tanpa mengorbankan standar teknis, dan direkomendasikan sebagai pendekatan preventif dalam perencanaan proyek-proyek peningkatan jalan di wilayah dengan kondisi medan dan aksesibilitas terbatas.
