Abstract

Indonesia merupakan penyumbang sampah plastik terbesar kedua di dunia, dengan 4,14 juta ton sampah plastik pada tahun 2021. Sampah plastik, terutama Polyethylene Terephthalate membutuhkan waktu ratusan tahun untuk terurai dan menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan dan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi potensi pemanfaatan limbah dalam campuran aspal untuk perkerasan jalan jenis Asphalt Concrete Binder Course. Tujuannya adalah mengurangi limbah plastik sekaligus meningkatkan kualitas dan kinerja perkerasan jalan. Dalam Penelitian ini, peneliti melakukan pengujian laboratorium terhadap benda uji yang dibuat dengan metode campuran basah, di mana limbah Polyethylene Terephthalate dicampurkan ke dalam aspal panas. Pengujian meliputi parameter seperti stabilitas, flow, Marshall quotient, dan ketahanan campuran aspal terhadap deformasi. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menganalisis pengaruh penambahan Polyethylene Terephthalate terhadap karakteristik fisik dan mekanik campuran aspal, seperti nilai Voids in Mineral Aggregate, Voids in Mixed Aggregate dan Voids Filled with Asphalt. Hasil analisis diharapkan dapat menentukan persentase optimal campuran limbah Polyethylene Terephthalate yang dapat digunakan dalam campuran Asphalt Concrete Binder Course dan diharapkan juga bahwa penelitian ini akan memberikan rekomendasi teknis terkait penggunaan limbah Polyethylene Terephthalate dalam campuran aspal yang sesuai dengan pedoman Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga (Revisi 2) Tahun 2018.
