Abstract

Kabupaten Nganjuk merupakan salah satu daerah di Provinsi Jawa Timur yang memiliki karakteristik geografis dan potensi sumber daya alam yang besar, khususnya di sektor pertanian tanaman pangan. Dengan luas lahan pertanian sawah mencapai 46.072 hektar dan produksi padi sebesar 484.378 ton pada tahun 2023, sektor ini menjadi penopang utama perekonomian daerah. Namun, produksi tanaman pangan padi di Kabupaten Nganjuk mengalami fluktuasi yang cukup signifikan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor internal dan eksternal, seperti perubahan iklim, serangan hama, keterbatasan pasokan air, serta ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana pertanian yang belum optimal. Salah satu permasalahan utama adalah belum tersedianya fasilitas penelitian terintegrasi yang dapat mendukung peningkatan produksi, pengembangan varietas unggul, dan inovasi teknologi pertanian. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perencanaan dan perancangan Fasilitas Penelitian Tanaman Pangan Padi di Kabupaten Nganjuk yang berfungsi sebagai pusat inovasi, penelitian ilmiah, edukasi masyarakat, serta penerapan teknologi pertanian modern secara berkelanjutan. Keberadaan fasilitas ini diharapkan dapat mendukung program pemerintah daerah sebagaimana tercantum dalam Rencana Strategis Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan Provinsi Jawa Timur Tahun 2025–2026 serta Peraturan Daerah Kabupaten Nganjuk No. 4 Tahun 2022 tentang Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Daerah. Dengan demikian, Fasilitas Penelitian Tanaman Pangan Padi diharapkan mampu meningkatkan produktivitas, memperbaiki kualitas hasil panen, mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan lahan pertanian, dan berkontribusi terhadap ketahanan pangan daerah secara berkelanjutan.
