Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of safety culture on the safety behavior of coal mining workers by considering the mediating effect of psychological capital. The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross sectional design using a questionnaire distributed to 412 respondents who are employees of PT. Cipta Kridatama coal mine in Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with WarpPLS version 8.0 software.The results indicate that safety culture and psychological capital have a significant positive influence on safety behavior. Additionally, safety culture has a significant positive influence on psychological capital. The study also found that psychological capital mediates the influence of safety culture on safety behavior. The R-Square values for the psychological capital and safety behavior variables are 64.9% and 25.8%, respectively, indicating a relatively good predictive capability of the model.
