Abstract

Kabupaten Gresik merupakan sebuah daerah yang memiliki cerita panjang akan penyebaran Islam di tanah Jawa. Gresik merupakan daerah penyebaran Islam pertama di tanah Jawa, tepatnya di pesisir kabupaten gresik yang pertama kali di sebarkan oleh Maulana Malik Ibrahim atau lebih di kenal sebagai Sunan Gresik. Selain Sunan Gresik ada juga Sunan Giri yang menyebarkan Islam di Kabupaten Gresik, hingga Gresik di kenal sebagai kota para wali. Julukan ini bukan tanpa dasar, karena Gresik merupakan satu satunya daerah yang penyebaran Islamnya di lakukan oleh lebih dari satu wali yaitu Sunan Gresik dan Sunan Giri.Tujuan dari abstrak ini adalah untuk menyajikan ide pentingnya pengembangan kawasan wisata ini melalui redesain fasilitas pada kawasan wisata religi Sunan Giri di Kabupten Gresik dengan pendekatan arsitektur neo - vernakuar. Pengembangan destinasi wisata ini melalui redesain fasilitas, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya tarik wisatawan masyarakat untuk berwisata religi dan edukasi sejarah mengenai situs cagar budaya peninggalan dari Sunan Giri dan peninggalan Bandar Grisse. Konsep dasar yang digunakan adalah “ Seng Eling lan Pada Dedungo“ Konsep ini akan menciptakan sesuatu wisata religi yang tak hanya diisi oleh kegiatan ziarah dan keagamaan saja namun juga meliputi berbagai kegiatan seperti edukasi sejarah dan berbelanja oleh – oleh atau kuliner khas Gresik. Selain itu, pengembangan wisata religi ini dilakukan juga dapat berpengaruh terhadap ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat disekitar wisata serta menaikkan kualitas pariwisata di daerah tersebut.
