Abstract

Cyberbullying has caused bad impact on mental health, from low self-esteem, self harm to suicide. This study examined the role of resilience in the relationship between perceived social support, self-esteem and cyberbullying. Quantitative method was used. This study involving 994 middle school students from cities in East Java, Jakarta, West Java and Bali, aged 12 – 17 years old. The mediation test was employed using SEM analysis. Results shows that resilience does not mediate the relationship between self-esteem and perceived social support and cyberbullying. Self-esteem and perceived social support can predict cyberbullying better without the mediating variable. While self-esteem also predicts resilience well, perceived social support shows only a marginal ability.
