Abstract

Mahasiswa merupakan kelompok usia yang berada pada fase perkembangan remaja akhir menuju dewasa awal, yang rentan terhadap tekanan emosional, sosial, dan akademik. Kondisi tersebut menjadikan mahasiswa kelompok yang berisiko mengalami gangguan emosi seperti agresivitas. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, mahasiswa juga tidak terlepas dari penggunaan media sosial dan sering mengalami gangguan pola tidur, yang keduanya diduga memiliki pengaruh terhadap kestabilan emosi dan perilaku agresif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan media sosial dan kualitas tidur dengan agresivitas pada mahasiswa di Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik analisis Spearman karena data tidak memenuhi asumsi linearitas. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 310 mahasiswa yang diperoleh melalui teknik snowball sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala intensitas penggunaan media sosial, skala kualitas tidur, dan skala agresivitas, yang telah melalui proses uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas penggunaan media sosial tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan agresivitas (r = 0,027 p = 0,638), sedangkan kualitas tidur memiliki hubungan negatif yang signifikan dengan agresivitas (r = -0,491 p 0,01). Artinya, mahasiswa yang memiliki kualitas tidur buruk cenderung lebih mudah mengalami gangguan emosi yang mengarah pada perilaku agresif. Sementara itu, penggunaan media sosial yang tinggi tidak secara langsung berkontribusi terhadap tingkat agresivitas. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pemahaman psikologis mahasiswa dan menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kualitas tidur merupakan langkah preventif yang relevan untuk mengurangi kecenderungan agresivitas di kalangan mahasiswa.
