Abstract

Intensitas penggunaan media sosial yang tinggi justru cenderung berkaitan dengan munculnya perasaan kesepian secara digital di kalangan mahasiswa. Kondisi ini dikenal sebagai digital loneliness, yaitu kondisi ketika individu tetap merasa kesepian meskipun aktif terhubung secara daring. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Problematic Internet Use (PIU) dan Digital Social Support (DSS) dengan Digital Loneliness (DL) pada mahasiswa pengguna aktif media sosial. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 250 mahasiswa berusia 18–34 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Skala yang digunakan mencakup skala PIU (α = 0,747), DSS (α = 0,863), dan DL (α = 0,934). Analisis data dilakukan dengan regresi linear ganda. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa PIU dan DSS secara simultan berhubungan signifikan dengan DL (F = 101,09; p < 0,01). Secara parsial, PIU berhubungan positif signifikan (t = 4,189; p < 0,01), sedangkan DSS berhubungan negatif signifikan (t = –13,755; p < 0,01). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa PIU dapat meningkatkan digital loneliness, sementara DSS yang bermakna dapat menurunkannya. Selain itu dari hasil analisis data ditemukan sebanyak 60% responden memiliki DL dalam kategori sedang hingga sangat tinggi, dengan skor rata-rata lebih tinggi pada mahasiswa laki-laki sedangkan untuk jenis platform media sosial tidak terlalu mempengaruhi tingkat DL.
