Abstract

Bungur Village is one of the agricultural centers in Nganjuk Regency, relying on key commodities such as rice, shallots, and corn. Despite its substantial production potential, the agricultural sector in this area faces serious challenges across social, environmental, and economic dimensions. This study aims to identify the main factors affecting agricultural sustainability and food security using the Triple Bottom Line approach (People, Planet, Profit), to design a dynamic systems model that illustrates the interrelationships among key variables, and to evaluate the effectiveness of intervention scenarios and risk mitigation strategies. The analysis, conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method, highlights three significant factors: the dominance of elderly farmers, high dependency on chemical fertilizers, and the frequent occurrence of pest infestations. The developed dynamic systems model effectively captures the interactions between social, environmental, and economic factors. Simulation of three intervention scenarios reveals that a combination of semi-organic fertilizer use and pest control provides the most optimal outcome, increasing profit to IDR 122,279,668.88 per hectare per year (a 16% increase from the baseline of IDR 105,589,715.35), while also improving environmental quality and supporting farmer regeneration. Furthermore, risk management analysis identifies five major risks accounting for 79% of the total Risk Priority Number (RPN), including pest resistance and poor fertilizer quality. Using the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method, mitigation strategies were formulated, including technical training, improved fertilizer distribution systems, access to soil testing services, and enforcement of quality regulations. The findings of this study contribute to the development of an adaptive, sustainable, and resilient agricultural system at the village level.
