Abstract

CV. Barokah Metal is a business engaged in the motorcycle spare parts manufacturing industry. One of the products produced is a planer or motorcycle bracket. Every day CV. Barokah Metal targets to produce 60 dozen planers. However, sometimes consumer demand cannot be met. One of the reasons for not meeting the target is influenced by the performance and consistency of each worker, therefore it is necessary to determine the standard time in the production process in order to maximize workers in completing their work. Observations of working time are carried out repeatedly to calculate standard time using the stopwatch time study method and the standard time for cutting strip plates is 33.80 seconds and 33.53 seconds, cutting hollow pipes 11.41 seconds, bending and pressing hollow pipes 39.03 seconds, pressing strip plates 7.61 seconds, welding 45.09 seconds, coating 24.93 seconds, installing rubber 33.17 seconds, and packing 59.54 seconds. The number of workers needed to meet demand is 12 people by adding 3 workers. The right scenario between doing overtime or adding workers is to add 1 worker and overtime for 1 hour at the bending and pressing work station of the hollow pipe, add 1 worker to the welding, and on the packing can be assisted by operators 3 and 7 in meeting the target. Then the total cost of labor wages incurred by the company is IDR 865,000 per day or IDR 22,490,000 per month.
