Abstract
PT. XYZ merupakan perusahaan manufaktur yang memproduksi karbon aktif PT. XYZ mensuplai kebutuhan karbon aktif terutama untuk industri filter air serta perusahaan besar melalui kontrak kerja sama jangka panjang. Dalam kegiatan distribusi, perusahaan menggunakan dua unit truk CDD Bak dengan kapasitas maksimum 6 ton dan satu unit Pickup Box dengan kapasitas 1,5 ton. Namun, untuk memenuhi permintaan besar dari perusahaan-perusahaan besar, PT. XYZ masih harus menyewa truk trailer dari pihak ketiga dengan biaya sekitar Rp1.800.000,00 per pengiriman. Biaya ini cenderung meningkat setiap tahun sebesar Rp100.000,00 hingga Rp150.000,00 per pengiriman, sehingga menambah beban operasional tahunan perusahaan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan analisis kelayakan investasi menggunakan metode capital budgeting guna menilai kelayakan penambahan truk. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, truk UD Quester GDE280 dipilih sebagai opsi paling layak dengan hasil Payback Period (PP) sebesar 3,91 bulan, Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar Rp9.581.482.520, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) sebesar 40,66% yang melebihi Minimum Attractive Rate of Return (MARR) sebesar 8,53%, dan Profitability Index (PI) sebesar 13,28%. Tingkat efisiensi biaya operasional yang dapat dicapai melalui investasi ini sebesar 33,31%, yang menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan dapat menghemat sepertiga dari total biaya operasional dibandingkan dengan opsi sewa. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, investasi pembelian truk baru layak untuk direalisasikan guna meningkatkan efisiensi biaya distribusi dan profitabilitas jangka panjang perusahaan.
