Abstract

Indonesia is the 8th largest corn producing country in the world, while in Southeast Asia Indonesia is the largest com producer. According to the Badan Statistik (BPS 2024) Corn production in Indonesia ptoduces quite high corn, which produces corn cob waste Of around 4,562,142.44 million tons. Corn cobs are waste that has not been utilized properly. As in the poultry feed industty, unused corn cobs are simply thrown away so that it becomes an environmental problem, so in this study, corn cob ash was utilized because the compound content of corn cob ash has the potential to be an alternative cheap and environmentally friendly mortar additive and as an effort to reduce the impact Ofcom cob waste. Corn cob ash contains a fairly high element of Silica Oxide (Si02), which is 56.7%, Silica is a compound that functions as a binder andfiller that reduces mortar porosity. This study used corn cob ash (ATJ) that passed the No. 200 sieve with a pementage 0fO%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% of the weight of cement. The tesults of the cement paste test showed that increasing the ATJ percentage can accelerate the cement binding process and Can increase the unit weight and water absorption value Of the mortar. However, increasing the ATJpercentage actually decreases the workabilitas value of the mortar. And the results of the mortar compressive strength test with the highest or most optimum value wen obtained from a percentage of 5% addition Ofcom cob ash at the age Of 28 days, which was 35.316 Mpa. However, when the ATJ percentage exceeds 5%, it tends to decrease the compressive strength value.
