Abstract

Masalah limbah menjadi tantangan besar di Indonesia seiring meningkatnya jumlah penduduk dan aktivitas industri. Salah satu jenis limbah yang belum banyak dimanfaatkan adalah limbah kertas food grade. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan potensi abu limbah produksi kertas food grade sebagai filler alternatif pada campuran aspal AC-WC menggunakan metode Marshall dan aspal modifikasi Performance Grade (PG) 70. Limbah diperoleh dari salah satu pabrik industri kertas food grade di Jawa Timur berupa aval (sisa potongan) kertas yang dikeringkan dan dibakar untuk menghasilkan abu filler. Analisis kimia menggunakan X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) menunjukkan kandungan utama abu limbah kertas food grade berupa CaO, SiO₂, Al₂O₃, dan Fe₂O₃. Berdasarkan pengujian sifat fisik, abu limbah kertas food grade ini memenuhi standar yang ditetapkan, yaitu lolos saringan No. 200 sebesar 85,43% dan berat jenis rata-rata 2,640 sesuai Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga (Revisi 2) Tahun 2018. Pengujian stabilitas Marshall pada variasi penambahan filler 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100% dengan kadar aspal 4,5%, 5,0%, 5,5%, 6,0%, dan 6,5% menunjukkan nilai stabilitas tertinggi pada variasi 75% filler sebesar 1600,0 kg, sedangkan variasi 25% filler pada kadar aspal 4,5% dan 5,0% tidak memenuhi batas minimum stabilitas 1000 kg. Variasi 50% dan 100% filler menghasilkan stabilitas di atas 1000 kg, dengan nilai maksimum masing-masing mencapai 1233,3 kg. Kadar aspal optimum (KAO) untuk semua variasi adalah 6,25%. Hasil ini menunjukkan abu limbah kertas food grade tidak hanya mampu memenuhi standar teknis tetapi juga memberikan solusi ramah lingkungan dalam pengelolaan limbah serta meningkatkan performa campuran aspal AC-WC.
