Abstract

Generation Z currently represents the largest segment of the productive population in East Java Province, accounting for 24.80% of the total population. In Surabaya, this generation shows significant potential in facing challenges within the digital economy. However, statistical data reveals that their participation in entrepreneurship remains relatively low, with only around 1,600 individuals identified as business actors from this group. Meanwhile, the contribution of young people who are interested and capable in entrepreneurship is crucial for driving economic growth, creating new job opportunities, and reducing unemployment rates. This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of Self-Efficacy and Personal Attitude on entrepreneurial interest among Generation Z in North Surabaya. Generation Z, as a productive age group raised in the digital era, still shows a relatively low level of involvement in entrepreneurship. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method by distributing questionnaires via Google Forms to 100 respondents aged 17–27 years residing in North Surabaya. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results show that Self-Efficacy has a positive influence on entrepreneurial interest, as reflected in respondents' confidence in their ability to learn from life experiences to achieve business success. Personal Attitude also positively influences entrepreneurial interest, especially in the aspect of risk-taking in business. Simultaneously, both variables positively affect entrepreneurial interest, with Self-Efficacy being the most dominant factor. These findings suggest that confidence in one's abilities and a positive personal attitude are essential foundations for fostering entrepreneurial interest among Generation Z.
