Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of environmental uncertainty, company size, and strategic changes on financial performance and firm value in food and beverage sub sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2020-2022. With a quantitative approach using SEM-PLS, this study analyzed 111 data from 37 companies based on financial reports and annual reports. The results showed that environmental uncertainty has no significant effect on financial performance or firm value, either directly or through mediation of financial performance. In contrast, firm size has a significant effect on financial performance and firm value, reflecting the stability and attractiveness of large firms in the eyes of investors. However, strategic changes have no significant effect on financial performance or firm value, either directly or through financial performance as a mediator. In addition, the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) also does not significantly mediate the relationship between financial performance and firm value. These findings underscore the importance of firm size and financial performance as key determinants of firm value in the stock market, while environmental uncertainty and strategic change require further study to understand their influence.
