Abstract

Entrepreneurship can be an alternative for students who are facing Individual entrepreneurial interest can be influenced by various factors, one of which is independence. This study aims to determine the relationship between independence and entrepreneurial interest in students. The subjects of this study were students at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya with a population of 2,686 students and a sample of 247 students obtained through the Issac and Michael table. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. Sampling uses a quota sampling technique. Based on the Spearman's rho correlation test, the results of the analysis obtained revealed that there is a strong and significant positive correlation between independence and entrepreneurial interest in students. So it means that the higher the level of independence that students have, the higher their interest in entrepreneurship. On the other hand if the student has less independence, the lower their interest in entrepreneurship will be.
