Abstract

A 3-phase electromotor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In industrial applications, 3-phase electromotors are frequently used to support various movements of production machinery, which are generally operated continuously without interruption. With continuous usage, certain physical parameters must be maintained to ensure they remain within normal ranges according to their specifications or safe performance limits. The protection parameters include current, voltage, RPM, and temperature. Users can input the physical parameter thresholds as the benchmarks for protection based on motor data or safety limits. Sensors continuously monitor the physical parameters that require protection as long as the system is active. The monitored physical parameters are logged using an SD card and the Blynk application on a smartphone. The physical parameters and their tolerances based on the input electromotor data are as follows: Current: Upper limit = Full Load Ampere (FLA) multiply 125%; Lower limit = FLA multiply 40%, Voltage: ±10 volts from the specified range; Temperature: Upper limit based on the input data; RPM: Upper limit = RPM Nameplate multiply 40%. During the testing phase, the measurements recorded by the system’s sensors were compared with standard measuring instruments to determine the error rate. The accuracy of the readings was satisfactory after several tests of the physical parameters.
