Abstract
This research examines the effects of laissez-faire leadership, entrepreneurial selfefficacy, and work engagement on innovative work behaviour, with organizational citizenship behaviour serving as a moderating variable, amongst staff at 4-star hotels in Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra. The study utilised a quantitative methodology, sampling 171 permanent employees from a total population of 300 across five 4-star hotels, selected via the Slovin formula. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires, with analysis performed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) via AMOS 26 software. Findings revealed that laissezfaire leadership had no significant impact on work engagement, whilst entrepreneurial self-efficacy positively influenced it. Both laissez-faire leadership and entrepreneurial self-efficacy were found to affect innovative work behaviour. However, work engagement did not significantly influence innovative work behaviour. Organizational citizenship behaviour was observed to moderate the link between work engagement and innovative work behaviour. These outcomes underscore the significance of cultivating entrepreneurial self-efficacy and organizational citizenship behaviour to boost innovative work behaviour in the hospitality sector, even under laissez-faire leadership. The research contributes to the understanding of factors driving innovation in the hotel industry and provides practical insights for hotel management in fostering an innovative workforce.
