Abstract

This research aims to describe the communication behavior of PKK Generation or written, and the communication is informal and indirect communication where the communication process is carried out with the help of a third party or the help of communication media tools. Which is where the communication process is sent through communication media tools, namely hoax news found on social media. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive research method, combining primary and secondary data sources. Data was obtained through collection techniques, namely interviews and documentation. The collected data will be analyzed through the stages of data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and drawing conclusions, data presentation, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this research show that PKK women often encounter hoax news, especially regarding political issues which are currently always being discussed on social media. The application where this hoax news is often found is Facebook. Because this application is also one that is actively used by PKK Pabean Asri women, Sedati apart from the WhatsApp application. The communication behavior carried out by PKK women is very diverse, starting from ignoring the news, some reading the news to find out whether it is true, and also some directly forwarding without knowing whether the news is fact or vice versa. To overcome this phenomenon, it is necessary to increase media literacy through special training or education that helps them understand how to verify news. This can be done by starting from fact checking, such as not being led by news headlines but also reading the contents to find out whether the news is true or the opposite (hoax).
