Abstract

This research discusses the role of the Mojokerto Regency Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism Office in the development of Petirtaan Jolotundo in Trawas District. The background of the research highlights the great potential of Mojokerto's cultural and historical tourism, particularly Petirtaan Jolotundo, which is an archaeological site from the Airlangga era. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the Department acts as a regulator following the reference of the Mojokerto Regency Regional Tourism Regulation Master Plan Law, while Perhutani Pasuruan and BPCB East Java make regulations in Petirtaan Jolotundo. As a dynamiser, the Dinas provides some training to Perhutani Pasuruan and BPCB East Java, but does not provide funding to Petirtaan Jolotundo. As a facilitator, the Dinas provides facilities such as the availability of toilets, prayer rooms, and food courts. As a catalyst, the Department always coordinates regularly with Perhutani Pasuruan and BPCB East Java to maintain the conduciveness of the area at Petirtaan Jolotundo. The research conclusion underlines the importance of sustainable strategies and cross-party cooperation to optimise Jolotundo's cultural tourism potential.
