Abstract

Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan potensi perekonomian masyarakat khususnya di wilayah Surabaya dan sekitarnya. Dimana yang dimaksudkan adalah masyarakat yang bekerja di bidang konveksi tekstil dan sejenisnya. Merujuk pada keluhan masyarakat Surabaya yang tidak bisa bersaing pada harga pasar mereka seperti di pasar tanah abang karena sulitnya mereka untuk mendapatkan bahan dasar produksi industrinya. Oleh karena itu memunculkan ide untuk melakukan perancangan objek pembelanjaan bahan tekstil terbesar dan terlengkap di Jawa Timur. Perbelanjaan barang grosir berkonsep “One Stop Shopping” sepertinya menjadi pokok pemikiran utama perancangan ini, karena sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang di miliki oleh masyarakat yaitu belanja lengkap, murah, dan efisien. Konsep perbelanjaan One Stop Shopping ini pertama kali digunakan di Amerika Serikat pada akhir tahun 1920. Konsep ini menawarkan kenyamaan kepada pelanggan dalam memenuhi berbagai macam kebutuhan di satu titik Lokasi saja. Sehingga masyarakat dari berbagai daerah seperti Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, Gresik dan sekitarnya yang hinga saat ini masih memenuhi kebutuhan industrinya di Surabaya bisa semakin nyaman dan lebih efisien waktu. Oleh karena itu nantinya barang-barang yang akan dijual di dalam lebih dikoordinirkan dari macam-macam jenisnya. Mengangkat dari kultur masyarakat Surabaya yang terkenal akan kesadaran dirinya kurang terkesan susah diatur. Sehingga menimbulkan ide konsep arsitektur “Culture For Development”. Dimana yang dimaksud adalah pembangunan kultur masyarakat setempat dengan pandangan masyarakat dari luar kota yang tentunya kurang memahami kultur masyarakat Surabaya, sehingga hal-hal yang nantinya dapat membuat para pengunjung itu kurang nyaman dapat di antisipasi sebelumdilakukannya pembangunan. Selain itu arsitekturalnya menggunakan pendekatan arsitektur analogi, Pendekatan ini digunakan untuk merumuskan konsep dan menyampaikan pesan kepada publik. sehingga tujuan dilakukannya perancangan bangunan perbelanjaan tekstil ini yaitu nyaman, efisien, dan terlengkap ini dapat terwujud.
