Abstract
During the rainy season, the area designated for the construction of the Semarang - Demak Toll Road Package 1C, notably in the Trimulyo Village, Genuk District, Semarang City, is at risk of rising water levels in local rivers, leading to potential flooding, particularly from the overflow of the Babon River that flows directly through and at the project site of the Semarang Demak Toll Road Development. This situation poses several concerns, including the presence of flood-prone areas that can jeopardize worker safety as well as the risk of inundation at the pump house locations due to the Babon River overflow. This study conducts a quantitative analysis related to hydrology, hydraulics, and costs to arrive at technical solutions that can be implemented during the construction phase. The flood discharge used is based on a return period of 2 years (Q2), with hydraulic modeling utilizing culverts as a temporary structure alternative, followed by a cost assessment to identify the most efficient option. The analysis results indicate a flood discharge of 262.75 m³/second for a return period of 2 years (Q2) and a water elevation height of +1,500. The proposed temporary structure for managing the flow of the Babon River water involves using Armco type Multi Plate Pipe Arch culverts with dimensions of span 4,58 m and rise 3,05 m, with a total cost of IDR 2,243,788,011. This study also suggests considering other alternatives for water flow solutions, such as Bailey bridges or other semi-permanent bridges for future company inventory.
