Abstract

Inundation that occurs in urban areas due to the increase in the number of dwellings, so that open land which was originally agricultural land or plantations is decreasing and closed or impermeable land is increasing. This impermeable land results in rainwater not being able to seep into the ground, so that when there is a high intensity of rain it causes flooding and inundation. This is expected to occur because the drainage system does not meet the requirements, and because there is a mismatch between the Drainage Master Plan and the Spatial Plan. For this reason, efforts are needed to solve this inundation problem, such as conducting a technical study of the drainage network system. The method used is to analyze the last 10 years of rain data using the gumbel distribution method, and the log pearson type III distribution. Then the distribution suitability test, chi-khuadrat test and smirnov-kolmogrov test are conducted. The next step is to determine the rainfall intensity using the Mononobe equation and design discharge analysis using the rational method. Based on the analysis, it was found that the inundation was caused by the lack of operation and maintenance of the existing channels. In addition, increasing the capacity of the drainage channel is an effective solution to improve water conveyance efficiency and reduce the risk of inundation. By increasing the capacity of the drainage channel, discharge can be conveyed more quickly to the main sewer to protect the surrounding area from potential flood damage. The construction cost required to mitigate flooding in Tanjung Redeb sub-district is estimated at IDR 272,380,000.00, involving technical, environmental and social aspects. Collaboration with technical experts and local stakeholders is considered essential to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of this investment in addressing flooding issues in the area.
