Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between Body shaming and positive self-image of teenager with acne-prone skin conditions in Sidoarjo Regency. The subjects of this study were 144 students. The technique used in this study is the Product Moment Correlation Test and to determine whether there is a relationship between Body shaming and positive self-image of teenager with acne prone skin conditions in Sidoarjo Regency. Data testing is carried out with data that must be normally distributed and linear, in the study it was found that the data was normally distributed with a Self-Image value of 0.05 and Body Shaming 0.06 and the results of item reliability with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.94. The results of this study prove that the hypothesis is accepted by obtaining a value of ρ = 0.000 with a significant level (ρ <0.05) the result of the value -0695, it can be concluded that the relationship between Body shaming and positive self-image of teenager with acne-prone skin conditions in Sidoarjo Regency is accepted, the higher the Body shaming the lower the Self-Image in Adolescent Girls while the lower the Body shaming the higher the Self-Image in Adolescent Girls. The results of the contribution for the Body shaming variable to Self-Image were able to provide an effective contribution of 48% while 52% could possibly be caused by other factors that can influence consumer behavior such as self-confidence, selfesteem, consumer behavior, lifestyle, and intensity of playing social media.
