Abstract

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Instagram memiliki peran penting dalammendukung komunikasi interpersonal melalui fitur-fitur visual dan interaktif sepertiDirect Message (DM), Stories dan komentar. Media sosial ini memungkinkanpengguna untuk berbagi pengalaman, memperkuat hubungan jarak jauh, dan menjalininteraksi dengan individu baru, baik dalam konteks persahabatan maupun hubunganromantis. Namun, terdapat beberapa kendala, seperti miskomunikasi akibatkurangnya tone emosional dalam teks serta ketergantungan pada komunikasi digitalyang dapat mengurangi intensitas interaksi tatap muka. Dalam penelitian ini, proseskomunikasi interpersonal di antara narasumber dikaji melalui empat tahap yaitu Tahap Orientasi Tahap Exploratory Affective Stage Tahap Affective Exchange Stagedan Tahap Stable Exchange Stage. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatifdengan observasi dan wawancara yaitu peneliti berusaha memahami fenomena sosialdari perspektif orang yang terlibat. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadireferensi untuk memahami peran media sosial dalam membangun komunikasiinterpersonal, khususnya di kalangan komunitas seperti Karang Taruna.
