Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara pengimport garam yang kondisi wilayah sepertiga berupa laut. Pulau Madura merupakan penghasil garam terbesar se Jawa timur dan nasional, sehingga Pulau Madura identik sebagai Pulau Garam. Produksi garam terpusat di tiga Kabupaten yaitu, Pamekasan 1.868 ha, terdiri dari 888 ha lahan garam milik rakyat dan 980 ha milik PT. Garam. Luas lahan di Sumenep 5.368 ha, meliputi lahan PT. Garam seluas 3.300 ha, dan lahan garam rakyat seluas 2.608 dan di Sampang 5.545 ha, yang terdiri dari lahan garam rakyat 4.300 ha dengan kapasitas produksi garam 300.000 ton/tahun, dan lahan milik PT. Garam dengan luas lahan 1.245 ha dengan kapasitas produksi garam berkisaran 60.000 ton/tahun. Kabupaten Sampang merupakan kabupaten dengan produksi tertinggi dibanding kabupaten lainnya di pulau Madura, terutama dari Kecamatan Pangarengan, Camplong dan Jrengik sudah lama kenal baik di pasaran lokal maupun regional. Berdasarkan data Statistik Kementrian Kelautan dan Perikanan produksi garam tiap tahun mengalami penurunan yang tidak signifikan sehingga membuat kuailitas garam Indonesia belum memenuhi standar kualitas garam ekspor. Proses pembuatan produksi garam di Pulau Madura terbilang masih kuno karena menggunakan metode tradisional yang bergantung pada cuaca. Namun dengan hadirnya metode pembuatan garam yang tahan terhadap kondisi perubahaan cuaca yang tidak menentu. Rumah prisma menjadi Solusi mengatasi keterggantungan terhadap cuaca sehingga produktivitas rumah garam prisma lebih unggul dari Teknik pembuatan garam tradisional yang akan diimplementasikan pada industri garam di Kabupaten Sampang. Melalui karya tugas akhir membangun perkembangan industri garam di Pulau Madura membangun peningkatan segi aspek pengelolahan garam dan mendorong industrilisasi khususnya daerah Kabupaten Sampang dengan memaksimalkan potensi pergaraman dengan desain konsep implementasi budaya lokal yang berbasis modern dengan konsep tatanan Tanean Lanjang.
