Abstract

Jalan Raya Kapas Krampung-Jalan Tambak Sari, Surabaya City is one of the roads that has a strategic role in connecting several important roads in Surabaya. This road section is used by road users every day, including private vehicles and public vehicles. On this road section there are 3 intersections and many shops, schools, malls and community activities such as trips to the office, school activities that make the road congested so that it is prone to vehicle congestion. In addition, the influence of side obstacles such as motorized vehicles stopping on the shoulder of the road, pedestrians crossing not at the zebra crossing, and vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road can interfere with passing vehicles and cause vehicle congestion on the road. This study was conducted to determine the performance of the road due to frequent congestion on Jalan Raya Kapas Krampung Surabaya. This study uses a quantitative method that observes systematic phenomena in their interrelated relationships. Researchers collect data that can be calculated and analyzed statistically. Researchers apply a quantitative survey method based on the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines. Data acquisition comes from primary data and secondary data, primary data is data from traffic surveys that have been conducted in the field on Jalan Raya Kapas Krampung - Jalan Tambaksari, Surabaya City. Meanwhile, secondary data from population data of Surabaya City supports this research. The results of the road section performance analysis show that the degree of saturation (DS) of Jalan Raya Kapas Krampung is 0.97 which occurred on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 16.00 - 17.00 and the degree of saturation (DS) of Jalan Tambaksari is 0.95 which occurred on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 16.00 - 17.00.
