Abstract

The issue of low entrepreneurial interest among Generation Z in Panceng District, Gresik Regency, serves as the primary background of this study. The research aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial motivation and the use of social media on entrepreneurial interest, both individually and simultaneously. This study employs a quantitative method with a survey approach, involving 100 respondents from Generation Z. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression methods. The t-test was used to measure the individual influence of each variable on entrepreneurial interest, while the F-test was applied to assess the simultaneous effect of the two variables. The analysis results indicate that entrepreneurial motivation significantly influences entrepreneurial interest, as evidenced by a t-value greater than the critical t-table value and a significance level below 0.05. Similarly, the use of social media was found to have a significant effect on entrepreneurial interest, showing comparable results. Simultaneously, both variables entrepreneurial motivation and the use of social media have a significant impact on entrepreneurial interest, supported by an F-value exceeding the critical F-table value. The coefficient of determination demonstrates that the majority of the variation in entrepreneurial interest can be explained by these two variables, while the remaining variation is influenced by other factors beyond the scope of this study. The study concludes that entrepreneurial motivation and the use of social media are crucial factors in increasing entrepreneurial interest among Generation Z in Panceng District, Gresik Regency. It recommends optimizing these aspects through strategic entrepreneurial empowerment programs to create an environment that supports entrepreneurial growth among the younger generation.
