Abstract

Inventory planning is an essential process in a company's operational management. The main goal of inventory planning is to ensure that the company has an optimal and efficient supply of raw materials, minimizing inventory and storage costs. UD Berkah Niaga is a company focused on being a rice distributor to meet the local market's needs. To process data, the company uses the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method to effectively plan raw material requirements. The calculations are performed using forecasting methods such as Moving Average, Single Exponential Smoothing, and Naïve, resulting in an annual Total Inventory Cost of Rp. 64,555,000 for rice and Rp. 2,991,000 for sacks. Distribution of goods to customers is crucial to ensure satisfaction and smooth business operations. With an efficient distribution system, goods can arrive on time, reducing costs, and enhancing customer trust. To calculate route optimization and shipping costs, the Saving Matrix method is used to optimize delivery routes. From the initial 6 routes with a distance of 363.5 km, the routes were reduced to 2 routes with a distance of 193 km, resulting in a 47% distance savings or 170.5 km. The transportation cost decreased from Rp. 11,471,800 to Rp. 4,312,400 per month, saving Rp. 7,159,400 or 62%.
