Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze how the Profitability Ratio, credit risk management, and Solvency Ratio affect NPL, considering the role of asset quality as an intervening variable. This research design uses a quantitative research method. This research was conducted on the Banking Industry on the IDX with data for the period 2019-2023. From 47 Conventional Commercial Banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, samples were taken using the criteria set out above. Sampling based on the above criteria obtained a sample of 10 Commercial Banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This data analysis method is carried out by testing the research hypothesis using Structural Equation Modeling (SE (SEM) based on (PLS). Based on the testing and discussion in the previous section, it can be concluded that there are only 2 accepted hypotheses, namely Hypothesis 4 which states that the Profitability Ratio has a Positive and Significant Effect on Asset Quality, which means that the higher the Profitability Ratio, the better the quality of the assets owned by the company. Then Hypothesis 5 which states that Credit Risk Management has a Positive and Insignificant Effect on Asset Quality, which means that the better the credit risk management, the better the quality of the assets owned.
