Abstract
Penggunaan kata umpatan atau nonoshiri no kotoba sering kali dikaitkan dengan ekspresi emosi negatif, seperti kemarahan atau hinaan. Namun, dalam budaya Jepang, istilah ini memiliki makna dan peran yang bervariasi tergantung pada konteksnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan nonoshiri no kotoba dan konteks yang melatarbelakangi penggunaannya dalam manga Wind Breaker karya Nii Satoru Volume 1. Data berupa potongan percakapan tokoh dalam manga Wind Breaker karya Nii Satoru Volume 1 yang mengandung tuturan nonoshiri no kotoba. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiopragmatik, difokuskan pada pemetaan kategori jenis, frekuensi, fungsi dan konteks sosial yang memengaruhi penggunaan nonoshiri no kotoba oleh karakter dalam berbagai adegan. Dengan menggunakan teori SPEAKING (Hymes, 1972), penelitian ini mengelaborasi aspek setting and scene, participants, ends, act sequences, key, instrumentalities, norms, dan genre dari setiap ujaran umpatan yang ditemukan dalam percakapan. Setelah dilakukan analisis, diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut: terdapat penggunaan nonoshiri no kotoba di 5 lokasi dan 3 situasi waktu yang berbeda (S), dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 3 kelompok yaitu (1) tokoh utama Haruka Sakura, (2) preman kota, (3) tokoh pendukung (P). Tuturan tersebut memiliki 20 maksud dan tujuan (E), disampaikan dalam bentuk dialog percakapan informal (A). Terdapat 15 cara penyampaian atau nada (K), seluruhnya secara lisan dan langsung (I). Norma yang dilanggar meliputi norma kesopanan dan etika komunikasi, di mana nonoshiri no kotoba sering menimbulkan ketidaknyamanan dan memancing respons emosional dari lawan bicara (N), dengan tuturan berbentuk percakapan dialog (G).
