Abstract

Protecting the rights of victims of personal data breaches (PDP) in Indonesia is increasingly important as cases of data leaks and misuse increase. Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (UU PDP) provides a clear legal framework regarding individual rights, including the right to access, update and delete their personal data. Victims have the right to be informed about the processing of their data and can file a lawsuit in the event of a violation. Apart from that, the ITE Law and the Witness and Victim Protection Law also play a role in protecting the rights of victims by providing legal mechanisms to request compensation for losses experienced due to data theft. Legal remedies for victims include filing criminal, civil, ptun, pkpu lawsuits within a timely manner. determined after the violation occurs. Effective legal protection for PDP victims involves not only strict law enforcement but also educating the public about their rights regarding personal data.
