Abstract

Pada masa transisi remaja mengalami berbagai perubahan, ditandai dengan adanya perubahan signifikan dalam beberapa aspek seperti fisik, kognitif, emosional, psikologis yang berdampak pada depresi. Depresi merupakan salah satu gangguan mental yang umum terjadi pada kalangan remaja hingga dewasa. Depresi ditandai dengan suasana perasaan yang sedih, merasa tidak berharga, bersalah, hingga ciri somatik seperti kelelahan, gangguan pola makan dan tidur. Salah satu yang berperan dalam terbentuknya depresi adalah ciri kepribadian yang mempengaruhi cara berpikir dan bertindak setiap individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) untuk menurunkan tingkat depresi pada remaja ditinjau dari Big Five Personality Traits. Sample penelitian merupakan 114 siswa SMP Negeri 3 Krian dengan rentang usia 12-18 tahun. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan Pre-experiment dengan metode one group pretest and posttest design. Instrumen penelitian adalah Skala depresi dan BFI-II. Analisa data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji Paired Sample T Test dan Kruskal Wallis Test. Hasil uji statistik Paired Sample T Test menunjukkan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 atau 0.000 < 0.05. artinya terdapat perbedaan hasil pretest dan posttest setelah diberikan perlakuan Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa Cognitive Behavior Therapy efektif dalam menurunkan tingkat depresi pada remaja. Hasil Kruskal Wallis Test menunjukkan nilai Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) > 0.05 atau 0.104 > 0.05. Artinya tidak ada perbedaan penurunan tingkat depresi pada remaja dengan kepribadian neuroticism, agreeableness, openess dan conscientiousness secara signifikan.
