Abstract

Cases of violence in Lembata Regency increase every year, this is shown by the number of sexual violence against children. This research aims to examine the factors that cause criminal acts of sexual violence against children and analyze the factors that cause criminal acts of sexual violence against children in Lembata Regency. The method used in this research is an empirical legal method by collecting and analyzing various results from observations, interviews and document studies related to the topics discussed. The results of the research show that there are four factors that influence the occurrence of criminal acts of violence against children. including family; economic, educational, and social factors. Family dynamics that influence a person's behavior as a perpetrator or victim of criminal sexual violence. Low economic conditions, poverty and income inequality are triggers for sexual violence against children. Low levels of education and a lack of understanding about children's rights and the impact of violence trigger sexual violence against children. Deviations from cultural norms in the social environment of society lead to sexual violence against children in Lembata Regency
