Abstract

Sexual violence is a crime that seriously harms other people or even causes trauma to the victim. This research aims to investigate the legal framework involving legal protection for child victims of sexual violence. Protection of children is carried out in a rational, responsible and beneficial manner, carried out effectively and efficiently. So, the meaning of child protection efforts is a creative effort that enables children to live independently, namely that children have the ability and willingness to exercise their rights and carry out their obligations as children. This research was conducted using the policies and regulations contained in Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. Child protection is an effort to protect children so they can carry out their rights and obligations. In this discussion, the problems analyzed are how to legally protect children who are victims of sexual violence and obstacles in legal protection for children who are victims of sexual violence. This research is normative legal research. This research uses a conceptual approach and a statutory approach. The results of this research show that legal protection for children who are victims of sexual violence has been regulated in Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection and the role of the community towards children who experience sexual violence is through the activities of the community's role in implementing child protection by involving the government, parents. and community organizations, with the existence of outreach programs carried out by the government for the community so that the community knows its role in protecting children.
