Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pembebanan ekspansi dan evaporator terhadap karakteristik dan performansi sistem penyimpanan dingin (cold storage) yang menggunakan refrigeran R-134a. Dengan melakukan variasi pipa kapiler 1 meter dan TXV (Thermostatic Expansion Valve) pada suhu pembebanan cold storage 18 watt, 21 watt dan 25 watt. Dalam pengujian ini, data yang diambil adalah tekanan dan temperatur refrigeran keluar dari evaporator dan masuk ke kompresor (P_1 dan T_1), tekanan dan temperatur refrigeran keluar dari kompresor dan masuk ke kondensor (P_2 dan T_2), tekanan dan temperatur refrigeran keluar dari kondensor dan masuk ke katup ekspansi (P_3 dan T_3), tekanan dan temperatur refrigeran keluar dari katup ekspansi dan masuk ke evaporator (P_4 dan T_4). Pengamatan data dilakukan pada saat suhu kulkas stabil. Setiap perubahan katup ekspansi dan pembebanan menggunakan Heater diberikan jeda setiap 10 menit hingga alat pengujian dalam keadaan stabil. pengujian dengan variasi jenis pipa kapiler dan pembebanan evaporator terhadap karakteristik dan performansi mesin pendingin didapatkan sebuah kesimpulan bahwa variasi tersebut sangat mempengaruhi karakteristik dan performansi mesin pendingin. Dengan variasi katup ekspansi jenis pipa kapiler 1 meter dan TXV (Thermostatic Expansion Valve) nilai 〖COP〗_aktual yang terbesar terdapat pada katup ekspansi jenis TXV dengan pembebanan daya 25 watt pada cold storage dengan nilai 6,33 kJ/kg dan nilai 〖COP〗_aktual yang terkecil tedapat pada katup ekspansi jenis pipa kapiler 1 meter dengan pembebanan daya 25 watt dengan nilai 4,11 kJ/kg.
