Abstract
Education is a planned effort to develop a person's potential so that they can gain religious strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble morals and skills that are beneficial to society and themselves. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between fear of failure and academic dishonesty. The population in this study were students in grades 11 and 12 of SMA Dharma Wanita Surabaya. The sampling technique used in this research is the quota sampling technique. This research uses quantitative research. The type of research used is correlational research. The method used is a scale. The results of data analysis using Spearman Brown which was processed using SPSS version 25 show. There is a very significant relationship between the fear of failure variable and academic dishonesty. It was found that the empirical mean value of academic dishonesty was greater than the hypothetical mean value. Apart from that, it was also obtained that the empirical mean value of fear of failure was greater than the hypothetical mean value. Students who often commit and are involved in academic dishonesty practices are usually caused by many things, including individual and contextual factors including age, gender, academic achievement and group behavior. Apart from that, pressure from parents. The results of this study show that there is a positive relationship between fear of failure and academic dishonesty. The higher the fear of failure, the higher the academic dishonesty.
