Abstract
ANALISIS CACAT DAN GEOMETRI PADA PROSES LOST PLA CASTING UNTUK MANUFAKTUR PROPELLER KAPAL CEPAT TANPA AWAK Indonesia adalah negara maritim dengan wilayah dua pertiga lautan dan garis pantai terpanjang di dunia. Potensi wisata bahari di Indonesia sangat besar dengan adanya kapal cepat tanpa awak yang berkembang pesat. Propeller atau baling-baling merupakan bagian penting dari kapal cepat tanpa awak yang menciptakan daya dorong. Proses pembuatan propeller menggunakan metode investment casting (lost PLA casting). Penelitian ini membahas pembuatan propeller dari bahan timah karena sebagai dummy pembuatan propeller kapal cepat tanpa awak, proses manufaktur, dan cacat produknya. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa cetakan dengan perbandingan 1:3 memiliki keakuratan yang lebih baik dengan keakurasian yang sangat tinggi bisa dibuktikan dengan pembuatan propeller yang bentuknya kompleks menghasilkan dimensi diameter propeller 7,9 mm , panjang propeller 44,8 mm , tebal 2 mm bisa dinyatakan bahwa kepresisian hasil pengecoran propeller <90% dengan master patternnya, sedangkan cetakan dengan perbandingan 1:1,25 dan 1:2 masih memiliki cacat porositas dan retakan. Hasil penyusutan pada prosedur lost PLA casting sangat kecil yaitu penyusutan timah ialah 1,75%, 1,75% dan 2,22%. Standar penyusutan timah (sn) yang tecantum pada tabel 2 menunjukan angka 4,1%. Pengukuran aktual memiliki sedikit perbedaan dengan ukuran desain PLA yang dibuat. Jadi, metode lost PLA casting sangat efektif untuk menghasilkan propeller dengan presisi tinggi dan minim kecacatan ketika menggunakan campuran gypsum dengan perbandingan 3:1.
