Abstract
Konsep Ikumen adalah suatu konsep ayah di Jepang pada era modern sebagai ayah yang mengasuh anak, menikmati mengasuh anak, mengasuh anak sambil bekerja dan dalam pengasuhannya juga bisa mendewasakan dirinya. Munculnya Ikumen sebgai titik balik dari peran ayah di Jepang yang menurun dari masa ke masa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan konsep ikumen dengan konteks yang berbeda secara umum. Ayah yang bukan seorang manusia namun dalam tindakannya dapat disebut dengan Ikumen menurut Moteki, Ikumen Project, Eksekutif Ikumen Kobe, Oyama. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah sosiologi sastra yang menjelaskan sastra sebagai cerminan masyarakat yang membahas sejauh mana genre sastra yang digunakan dapat mewakili seluruh elemen masyarakat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tokoh Medama Oyaji dapat menggambarkan ayah yang mengasuh anak dengan bekerja yang diterapkan melalui konteks yokai. Kata Kunci : Ikumen, Yokai, Gegege no Kitaro, Medama Oyaji
