Abstract

Workaholic merupakan suatu gaya hidup dimana seseorang itu harus kerja terus, sibuk terus dimanapun berada, kapanpun, entah itu week end atau hari libur. Pelaku workaholic cenderung melakukan pekerjaan menantang ataupun memerlukan kreativitas tinggi, sehingga orang yang bekerja berjam-jam tidak dapat langsung disimpulkan sebagai seorang workaholic. Orang penganut perilaku ini akan berpotensi hipertensi, sakit jantung, infeksi kronis, diabetes, metabolism terganggu, tidur jadi terganggu, anxiety dan bahkan bisa kena depresi. Penyebab terjadinya workaholic karena faktor individu (ciri-ciri kepribadian) dan situasional (terkait dengan pekerjaan). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menguji hubungan kepribadian perfectionism dan work engagement. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pekerja millennials dengan tahun kelahiran 1981-1996 di kota Surabaya sejumlah 320 orang. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan pengisian skala penelitian menggunakan googleform secara langsung oleh subjek. Adapun alat ukur dalam penelitian ini (1) Skala Workaholic (7 aitem; α= 0,793), (2) Skala Perfectionism (9 aitem; α=0,800), Skala Work Engagement (15 aitem; α= 0,896). Teknik analisis menggunakan Regresi Linier Berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara perfectionism dengan kecenderungan workaholic. Semakin tinggi perfectionism maka semakin tinggi kecenderungan workaholic. Ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara work engagement dengan kecenderungan workaholic. Semakin tinggi work engagement maka semakin tinggi kecenderungan workaholic. Kata Kunci: Workaholic, perfectionism, work engagement, pekerja generasi millennials
