Abstract
Proses heat treatment adalah adalah suatu proses mengubah sifat logam dengan cara mengubah struktur mikro melalui proses pemanasan dan pengaturan kecepatan pendinginan dengan atau tanpa merubah komposisi kimia logam yang bersangkutan. Proses annealing adalah proses untuk membantu memudahkan proses perubahan bentuk, proses untuk meninggikan malleability. Setelah baja dipanaskan dengan sistem austenit dan berubah bentuk dengan perlahan didinginkan agar ketahanan baja bertambah kuat. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah (1) Menganalisa pengaruh variasi waktu tahan dan media pendingin terhadap strutur micro. (2) Menganalisa pengaruh variasi waktu tahan dan media pendingin terhadap keuletan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan material baja ST 37 profil Plat. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 variasi yaitu waktu tahan dan suhu perlakuan panas dengan waktu tahan (30 menit, 60 menit, 90 menit) kemudian suhu perlakuan panas yang digunakan (850°C, 870°C dan 890°C). Selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian structur micro dan pengujian tarik. Analisa menunjukkan bahwa heat treatment dengan variasi suhu dan waktu akan mengubah kekuatan hasil tarik sebuah material, pada grafik diatas bahwa spesimen dengan waktu tahan selama 30 menit dengan suhu 890C mendapatkan nilai tegangan maksimal tertinggi, pada variasi suhu 870C dengan waktu tahan selama 30 menit mendapatkan nilai kekuatan tarik terendah di karenakan panas yang masuk pada material lebih rendah dan membuat material tersebut menjadi getas. 1.Dari hasil pengujian tarik dapat diketahui temperatur 850C adalah suhu yang optimal untuk menurunkan kekuatan baja. 2.Dari hasil pengujian tarik dapat diketahui waktu tahan 30 menit adalah waktu yang optimal untuk menurunkan kekuatan baja.
