Abstract

In the increasingly globalized era, social media technology has transformed the way we interact. One intriguing form of interaction is parasocial interaction, particularly between fans and their idols. In Indonesia, the idol group JKT48 has captivated many fans. Your research focuses on parasocial interactions between JKT48 fans in Sidoarjo and group members through the Showroom live streaming application. A quantitative research method was used to measure the impact of Showroom exposure on the relationship between fans in Sidoarjo and JKT48 members. The study found that Showroom exposure significantly enhances parasocial interactions. Fans can communicate with JKT48 members through messages or comments, creating unique and personal connections. Despite being mediated by technology, these interactions provide strong emotional experiences for fans. In conclusion, parasocial interactions via the Showroom app have created a distinct bond between JKT48 and their fans in Sidoarjo, highlighting the dynamics of social interaction in the digital age.
