Abstract

The polemic linking football to politics is a complex phenomenon that reflects the close relationship between sport and political dynamics. Polemics are characterized by sharp debates or disputes between two or more parties who have different views, opinions or interests. Mass media and social media also play an important role in spreading and amplifying the impact of this polemic. The impact of this polemic could be widespread, including changes in sports policy, polarization among supporters. This research aims to examine in depth the dynamics of polemics, the factors that influence the emergence of polemics, and their impact on society. This research uses a reception analysis method supported by Stuart Hall's encoding�decoding theory with the aim of finding out how Green Nord 27 received the polemic of the U-17 World Cup Opening on the YouTube TV One channel. The research results show that the reception of the informants is determined by their environmental background and experiences in the reality of their lives and on social media. The reception was divided into three audience positions, dominated by hegemonic�dominant reading which contained one informant for each indicator, then negotiated reading with two people and one person in the oppositional reading position.
