Abstract

The reading interest of the people of Surabaya City, especially children, has not yet experienced a consistent increase. The government continues to striveto increase children's interest inreading. In March 2024, the Surabaya City Government inaugurated a program, namely the Reading Corner Program, to increase children's interest in reading so that they become a generation that is critical, has broad insight and is capable of developments in today's world. This research discusses the implementation of the reading corner program in increasing children's interest in reading at Balai RW 02, Menur Pumpungan Village. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the Reading Corner program and determine the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the Reading Corner program at Balai RW02.The theory in this research uses David C. Korten's program implementation model theory. The method used is adescriptive qualitative method with an observation, interview and documentation approach. The results of this research are that the implementation of the Reading Corner program at Balai RW02 has not gonewell, this is based on several factors inhibiting the implementation of the Reading Corner program, namely lack of information, limited types of books, limited resources, and limited time.
