Abstract

In biology or science lessons at elementary school level, there is material that discusses animals and plants. Remembering that in the material about Animals and Plants in Elementary Schools, there are a large number of pictures relating to the names, types and breeding of animals and plants. Apart from that, the names, types and breeds are also an important part in understanding these animals and plants. Learning like this makes students, especially at the elementary school level, feel that biology or science is very boring, thus reducing their interest in learning or causing them to be reluctant to study these subjects. To find out students' interest in learning, the first step taken was to conduct an interview with the class IV teacher at SDN Kutisari 1. The results of the interview were the teacher's difficulty in conveying biology or science material, especially animal and plant material, so that students showed a lack of enthusiasm when understanding animals. and plants themselves, especially in understanding animals and plants as well as their names, types and reproduction. Based on this, it was designed as a learning tool to increase student interest. Limited learning media makes students bored and difficult to understand science material. Therefore, using this research, the aim is to design educational games about animals and plants as a learning medium as well as entertainment for students. The results show an average pre-test score of 55% and post-test 72%. The game was created with Unity Engine using the MDLC method. With the completion of the learning game "Designing Learning Games for Names, Types and Breeding of Animals and Plants" it is hoped that class 4 will find it easier to understand animal and plant material.
