Abstract
Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions that aim to change student behavior from negative to positive, by contributing to the formation of religious attitudes. However, cases of sexual violence in Islamic boarding schools by children of Islamic boarding school caregivers show negative impacts involving various parties. Data from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection and the National Commission on Violence Against Women shows the high rate of sexual violence in Indonesia. The case of sexual violence by MSAT, the son of a kyai at the Shiddiqiyyah Jombang Islamic boarding school, shows that there is sexual violence in the Islamic boarding school environment. This research uses a framing analysis method to see how CNN Indonesia and NU Online frame news related to this case. The research results show that CNN Indonesia framed this case by highlighting the issues of victim freedom, human rights and law enforcement, while NU Online focused more on moral aspects and moral teaching in Islamic boarding, schools.
