Abstract

Trains are one of the preferred modes of transportation for Indonesians to travel long distances. PT KAI Daop 7 Madiun as a railroad land transportation management company provides the best service so that the number of passengers increases every year. An increase in the number of passengers can trigger acts of sexual harassment and harm many people, especially women. The occurrence of sexual harassment can also damage the company’s image. Likewise, PT KAI Daop 7 Madiun maintains its image through campaigns as one of the activities to prevent sexual harassment on trains. The theory used is the theory of excellence public relations from James Grunig & Hunt. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach using data collection techniques of interviews, observation, and documentation and on data validity using source and technique triangulation techniques. The results of this study are through the four aspects of the public relations model PT KAI Daop 7 Madiun applies the public information model through aspects of purpose, nature / direction of communication, communication model, and research. Another public relations model is also used by PT KAI Daop 7 Madiun, namely two-way symmetry through the nature/direction of communication aspect as a way to socialize by delivering messages and providing education to the public and ensuring train passengers remain safe and comfortable.
